  • We provide a welcoming, secure, happy and stimulating environment to enable children to grow and learn confidently through play.

It is our intention to make Osborne House Community Nursery genuinely accessible to all children and families from our local community and surrounding areas. We recognise and acknowledge our city’s diverse community and we value and embrace diversity within our nursery.

  • We acknowledge that all individuals are entitled to respect regardless of gender, disability, race, religious beliefs.

This is a two-way process between Osborne House Community Nursery and people who access the setting. Any actions that are taken to be discriminatory will not be tolerated and will be challenged.

  • We encourage all individuals (children & their families/staff members) to recognise and value their individuality and that of others, encouraging them to have confidence in themselves and their abilities.

We encourage and support children in understanding and expressing their feelings and in recognising, accepting and responding to the feelings of others.

  • Early Years Foundation Stages

Providing a learning environment focused on play
  • We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), by providing a learning environment focused upon play where all individual children are encouraged to develop to their full potential in all areas of learning.

Qualified Early Years Practitioners use their knowledge and experience of child development to observe and listen to the individual child to ensure that their needs are being met and to enable us to plan activities and experiences to encourage and enhance their learning.

  • We are committed to implementing practice which focuses on the five Every Child Matters outcomes, which are:-
    • Staying safe

    • Keeping healthy

    • Enjoying and achieving

    • Making positive contributions

    • Achieving economic well being

    • We are absolutely delighted with the way Osborne House has enabled our daughter to develop and build her confidence. The team in the nursery setting have been responsive to her needs at each stage, working with us to support her early years education at home too.

    • Osborne House was recommended by a friend and I was impressed with them from our first contact onwards… The transition period was very well managed, we were able to take things at my daughter’s pace and we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly she settled in.

    • All the staff are so friendly, helpful and are always flexible to meet my son’s needs. He enjoys a wide range of fun and educational activities and it’s lovely to see updates on the tapestry app. I know he will continue to be really happy there until he goes to school.

    • Osborne House is a superb nursery setting and would recommend to any parents looking for a caring, interactive and creative environment for their children of any age. My child has been with them from a young age and they have made nursery a part of his life an routine and he loves and gets exited to go.
