  • Our staff team are all fully qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent. We also employ some Early Years Apprentice Assistants who are working towards completing Level 2 and Level 3 in Childcare and Education.

    Staff complete Peadiatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, Safer Sleep Training, as well as Fire Marshall and Food Hygiene training where necessary.

    • Interview questioning and work trial
    • Enhanced DBS check (formerly Criminal Record Bureau check)
    • References and I.D. checks
  • We are committed to continuous professional development, highlighted through evaluating practice and staff appraisals, to improve outcomes for the provision, children and their families and attend external training/briefings/workshops to improve our practice.

      We employ fully qualified Early Years Practitioners, who all hold at least NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or its equivalent. We also employ Early Years Apprentice Assistants who are working towards completing NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare and Education.

      Osborne House Community Nursery is a registered charity and a non-profit making organisation. The Board are comprised of parents of children at Nursery and parents of children who have left and therefore have a vested interest in the well-being of the setting.

      Our governing body (Ofsted) establishes statutory requirements for training; we are committed to ensuring that these requirements are adhered to. We are also committed to continuous professional development, highlighted through evaluating practice and staff appraisals.

      Our team is aware that children’s early years are the foundation to future well-being and learning. We provide an enjoyable, stimulating and safe, home from home environment for all children who attend our Nursery.

    Governed by Ofsted

    Our governing body (OFSTED) establishes statutory requirements for qualifications within a childcare staff team; we are committed to ensuring that these requirements are adhered to. All our qualified practitioners are fully certified to a Level 3 Childcare qualification or above.

    Health and safety

    The majority of our qualified practitioners have a certificate in ‘Paediatric First Aid’ and ‘Fire Marshaling’, which is updated every 3 years.

    Food preparation & mealtimes

    All staff who work in the nursery kitchen have a certificate in ‘Food Hygiene’, which is updated every 3 years. Other staff who handle food complete ‘Safer Food, Better Business’ training, again refreshed every 3 years. All staff who handle any food also complete allergy awareness training.

    Safeguarding & Childcare protection

    All staff who directly work with children have a certificate on ‘Safeguarding and Child Protection’. Management also have certificates in ‘Advanced Safeguarding and Child Protection’ and attend regular briefings.
